Debranding Overview

When you purchase a phone from a Network, the phone will only accept sim cards from that Network. For example, if you have an MTN mobile, it will only accept sim cards from MTN.

So when you insert a sim card into your phone from a different network, the phone will display any of the following:

* Sim not accepted
* Invalid Sim
* Enter restriction code.

Lots of mobile phones being released have the network branding not just on the box, but on the phone, and in the phone's software.
